Why do we start selling houses and apartments in Crete?

Buy in Crete: investment yes, but very rarely a family home

Our contact can confirm that the housing market is stabilizing and that prices started to rise already at the end of 2019. The lowest property price is somewhere around 80.000 euros and is quite easy to sell. For that money you can buy, for example, a 50 sqm apartment overlooking the countryside which is in a complex with a communal pool.
If you want to buy a house, you have to count on an average price of 250 and 450 thousand euros. Difficult to talk about the highest price of course but if you want to invest in a large villa or hotel then you have to count on several million euros.
Buy house / apartment on Crete: price per square meter
I checked the average prices per square meter Numbeo.com which states:
- apartment in the center 1 600 euros
- apartment outside the center 1 euros
Our partner in Crete commented: “When it comes to prices per square meter, in reality they are a little higher than those mentioned in the source, especially if we talk about the center of Chania (Old Town). The price per square meter outside the center is affected by seaview, access road and other amenities in the area ”.
